Hey! We’re happy that you’re interested in the Awareness Standards!

The Awareness Standards were negotiated and established by awareness activists from German-speaking regions.

These standards cover the foundations, definitions, and guidelines of awareness work. They are not exhaustive for every context. Collectives are encouraged to define additional standards that are relevant to their specific areas.

The Awareness Standards aim to provide a common basis for reliable awareness work. They are intended to remain a subject of reflection and discussion, keeping them open to further development and improvement. Above all, we aim to ensure that the concept of protection and safety, as understood in awareness work, is infused with vibrant and practical application.

We welcome everyone who wants to contribute to this effort!

The Awareness Standards are managed by a network of various groups and individuals. Those who wish to commit to the standards can become part of the Standards Network. Collectives or individuals who commit to these standards agree to uphold the core principles → self-commitment to the standards (in german, for now)

This website exists to make the standards publicly accessible, explaining what they are, how they can be applied, who has committed to them, and how compliance will be ensured. It serves as a public documentation of the standards, accessible and transparent for everyone.
